Job Description
The HIM Generalist is responsible for supporting various health information management functions, including medical record, document imaging, data integrity, and Release of Information (ROI). This position will be required to learn and perform ROI functions to ensure all activities are performed in accordance with The Joint Commission rules and regulations, HIPAA, and RRMC policy and practices. In addition, this role demonstrates superior Service Excellence with all internal and external customers. Minimum Education High School diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in health information management or related field preferred Minimum Work Experience At least one year of experience in healthcare, customer service, or administrative support. Prior HIM experience preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Demonstrated keyboarding ability Demonstrated moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Basic office skills Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic computer skills. Good verbal and written communication skills.
