Responsibilities:

Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer. Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients. Dispense and package medications under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist. Ensure compliance with all licensure and federal, state, and local laws and regulations; observe the pharmacy's policies on "best practices". Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints. Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with pharmacy guidelines. Report product incidents as required in accordance with pharmacy policy. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator. Participate in pharmacy committees when requested. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacist. The following functions require the professional judgment of a pharmacist and may not be performed by a pharmacy technician: Acceptance of verbal prescriptions. Certification of filled prescriptions. Entry of orders into the computer system without verification by pharmacist. Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards Regular and prompt attendance Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as assigned

Additional Information:

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent Required

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) Required Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
