A Health Technician or Technologist (Other) performs medical tests and operates diagnostic equipment. May specialize working in mental health, emergency medicine, occupational health, or in a medical laboratory.
Ambiance Medical Transportation , the largest NEMT gurney transportation company in Los Angeles, provides a critical service to elderly, ill and disabled patients by providing top tier medical transport to/from medical facilities & surgical centers; skilled nursing, rehab & long-term care facilities; doctor offices and patient residences. We are seeking energetic and professional Emergency Medical Technicians to join our day shift and weekend coverage team. The position hours are fairly regular, although some flexibility is required to address patient demands and delayed discharges. There is significant exposure to hospital environments and a variety of patient and hospital situations, allowing individuals to enhance patient and hospital communication skills. Ambiance's EMT team members swap between functioning as the attendant and serving as the driver when patients are in the vehicle. When patients are not in the vehicle, it is expected that the driving will be shared equally between the team members. As such, you must be 23 years of age to meet our auto insurance requirements.
Availability:
Weekdays & Weekends 8 hours per shift, shifts may end early or be extended depending upon patient demands 2-5 days per week Shifts start between 8AM & 3PM
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Be on time; Monitor patient condition as attendant or operate the vehicle during patient transports and share the role of driver when relocating vehicle with no patient; Follow Ambiance's safe driving practices; Transport patient in and out of vehicle/bed and into/out of locations in a kind, courteous & safe manner; Keep dispatch informed of situations & record key trip elements in Bambi; Collaborate with management, the hospital team, and your partner to improve Ambiance's level of care, customer service, work environment, and culture; Maintain the vehicle and other physical assets - ensure disposables are stocked, the vehicle is clean, "dings" are avoided or identified, vehicle & equipment issues are communicated and addressed; Complete daily manifests and maintenance records clearly and accurately; Remain up to date with current standards of care, equipment, certifications, licenses and registrations; and Adhere to Ambiance's policies/procedures (training provided) including complying with HIPAA regulations.

EMT State Certification - renewals paid by Ambiance, must be with company for at least 6 months On-line training (paid by Ambiance including hourly wage to take) LADOT attendant permit (company will pay for and submit application) Pass CA DOJ background check Pass drug test Pass physical exam Clean driving record Ability to lift 150 pounds Must be 23 years of age or older and have had a valid drivers license for a minimum of 3 years Additional pay opportunities: Overtime
