We are seeking an experienced, energetic and professional Emergency Medical Technician with strong leadership qualities to join our team as the Field Safety, Training & Compliance Officer. This position is responsible for ensuring our team is aware of, trained in, equipped for and adheres to the highest standards of non-emergency patient care and transportation. This role is the highest paid field position at Ambiance and the leadership expectations of ownership is commensurate with this.
The position is responsible for:
Performing field operations at a level equal to or better than all other employees, training new employees; Setting a standard of quality across our field team through example, constructive feedback, screening potential new hires, training & discipline; Bringing Ambiance's training programs to world class NEMT levels; Ensuring Ambiance's equipment is in great condition and sufficient to provide safe and comfortable transports; and Generally supporting the dispatch team and filling in as needed (hopefully infrequently).
Availability:
8 hours per shift Shifts will move to ensure all field employees can be observed and trained
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$24.50 per hour ($1.00 per hour is associated with a deferred bonus plan) Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance (with company contribution after 90 days of full-time employment) Specific Training and EMT certification renewals for full-time employees
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will execute a broad spectrum of tasks including:
  • Reviewing and updating Ambiance's new hire training program;
  • Training new hires as needed;
  • Working with Brian Carrizales to screen & interview potential new hires;
  • Operating in the field on a rotating basis, partnered with different field team members, so that he/she has hands-on experience with the entire team each month;
  • Identifying necessary equipment upgrades and replacements;
  • Soliciting feedback from field employees;
  • Learning Ambiance's dispatch system and assisting dispatch periodically; and
  • Writing up individual's failing to follow guidelines and working with ownership to reform, discipline/write up or, if needed, replacing said individuals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
At least 5 years as an EMT, preferably more. Leadership capability EMT State Certification - renewals paid by Ambiance, must be with company for at least 6 months On-line training (paid by Ambiance including hourly wage to take) LADOT attendant permit (company will pay for and submit application) Pass CA DOJ background check Pass drug test Pass physical exam Clean driving record Ability to lift 150 pounds Must be 23 years of age or older and have had a valid drivers license for a minimum of 3 years Additional pay opportunities: Overtime
