In this vital role, you will support patients across various hospital settings, including emergency departments, intensive care units, medical-surgical wards, and outpatient clinics. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient-centered care while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare setting. Duties Provide emotional support and companionship to patients during their hospital stay or outpatient visits, fostering a positive environment. Assist with patient transfer methods using proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Support clinical staff by helping with basic patient care activities such as vital signs monitoring, mobility assistance, and hygiene needs. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies on privacy and data security while documenting observations in electronic health records (EHR). Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to relay patient needs or concerns clearly and compassionately. Follow infection control protocols diligently to prevent the spread of care facility infections and ensure a safe environment for everyone. Support the safe operation of medical equipment and assist with patient transfer methods using appropriate medical equipment operation skills. Qualifications Experience working with geriatric patients Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required; additional certifications in infection control or medical terminology are a plus. Demonstrated ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and effectively while maintaining patient safety standards. Strong communication skills for effective caregiver interaction and teaching hospital experience preferred.
