Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Care Technician, where your compassionate nature and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Responsibilities Assist nursing staff with patient care activities, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and comfort measures Perform clinical procedures such as inserting catheters, administering IVs, and conducting phlebotomy with precision and aseptic technique Monitor vital signs regularly and document findings accurately to support ongoing patient assessment Support emergency response efforts by applying basic life support (BLS) techniques during critical situations Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to ensure effective communication and understanding of patient needs Collect blood samples through venipuncture and perform other specimen collections following proper protocols Uphold hospital standards for infection control, including proper hand hygiene and sterile procedures during all patient interactions Assist with suturing procedures under supervision when necessary and appropriate Ensure patient safety by adhering to hospital policies related to acute care and hospital medicine practices Experience Prior experience working in a hospital or acute care environment is highly preferred Hands-on experience with catheterization, IV insertion, venipuncture, and phlebotomy techniques is essential Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, emergency room procedures, and aseptic techniques is required Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and hospital protocols enhances effectiveness in this role Previous exposure to patient care tasks such as bathing, feeding, mobility assistance, or suturing demonstrates readiness for this position Certification in basic life support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications related to phlebotomy or venipuncture are advantageous Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
