Job Description
Job Title:
Emergency Medical Technician Duties:
- Operate ambulance vehicle with experience, care, and professionalism for non-emergency transports (i.e. dialysis, medical appts, discharges, etc)
- Communicate with medical personnel to relay patient information and receive further instructions
- Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly
- Provide medical care transportation to patients in a pre-hospital setting
- Assess patient's condition and determine appropriate treatment, as needed
- Administer basic life support measures
- Monitor vital signs and provide ongoing patient care during transport
Skills:
- Ability to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infection during medical procedures
- Knowledge of various medical equipment used in emergency and non-emergency situations, such as stretchers, oxygen tanks, and defibrillators
- Ability to provide compassionate and effective care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Understanding of the human body's structure and function to assess patients and administer appropriate treatment, if needed
- Basic life support: Proficiency in performing CPR, using automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and managing airways
Drive:
Possessing a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate an ambulance or emergency vehicle- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of the body's systems and how they function together in order to provide appropriate medical interventions, if necessary
- Vital signs monitoring: Proficiency in measuring and interpreting vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
