Job Summary Join our dynamic emergency response team as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, where your vital role is to provide immediate, high-quality pre-hospital care to patients in urgent situations. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing essential pre-hospital medical care at the scene and en route to healthcare facilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses Administer basic life support (BLS), including airway management, oxygen therapy, and bleeding control to stabilize patients Utilize advanced patient assessment techniques such as triage and medical terminology to prioritize care effectively Perform medication administration, venipuncture, and injection procedures following aseptic techniques and medical protocols Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment (DME), ensuring readiness for rapid deployment during critical incidents Transport patients safely while monitoring their condition continuously, providing critical care transport when necessary Collaborate with hospital staff during handoffs at Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers to ensure continuity of care Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, vital signs, and treatment provided in compliance with healthcare standards Drive emergency vehicles responsibly while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations, including heavy lifting when required Requirements Valid EMT-Basic certification with current licensure in good standing Prior experience in critical care environments such as hospital settings or emergency rooms is highly preferred Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment techniques Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency medicine protocols Experience with critical care transport services or Level I/Level II trauma center operations is a plus Ability to perform physical examinations and venipuncture accurately under pressure Strong understanding of aseptic technique and medication administration procedures Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to lift heavy equipment or patients safely when necessary Proven ability to work effectively in urgent care or emergency room environments under stressful conditions Join us if you're passionate about delivering life-saving care with energy and dedication.
