Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our team and provide exceptional support to individuals in various care settings. Female client (19yrs) with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She is blind, nonverbal, non ambulatory, and incontinent. She has bilateral upper and lower contractures. She requires max assist with all ADL's. She eats nothing by mouth. She has a G-Tube for feedings and medications. She dislikes silence, it scares her. She likes any sound and being outdoors. She uses facial expressions such as smiling or frowning, gestures, limited vocalizations, and thru the use of a communication book (Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display or PODD) to communicate her emotions. She attends school Monday thru Friday and typically arrives home after 3 pm so mom prefers services in the evening. The client currently receives 32 hours/week or personal support services.
Duties:
She gets off the bus at about 3:30 PM at the latest it would be 3:45 PM. She said that she has a shower chair and a Hoyer lift with enough room to maneuver the Hoyer lift. No direct lifting required.

Bathing; once a week wash her hair typically on a Friday or Saturday. Dressing and she gets a massage to her arms and legs and range of motion exercises because she is severely contracted.

ROM exercises, turning and repositioning.

Read her a story before dinnerDinner is between 6 PM and 6:30 PM sharp and they all eat together as a family.

The client has a G-tube so Mom will set it up and start her feeding and monitor it. Aide will not handle the G-tube and Momwill. Mom also gives her her meds and the aid puts her to bed at 8 PM. Potential schedule for her unskilled hours is 2:30pm to 8:30pm Monday thru Friday. Start is no later than 3/3:30pm.

$14.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
