Full Job Description Description:
Iowa Orthopedic Center is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to join our team. As a vital part of our healthcare team, our Rad Techs not only perform x-rays but also assist in patient care, including rooming patients, preparing injections, and learning to cast. Join us in delivering exceptional medical care at a Center of Excellence, where we prioritize patient care above all else.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct patients to exam rooms and obtain patient history and vitals. Manage x-rays and MRIs via computer systems; upload patient-provided images. Assist physicians with procedures and patient preparations for injections. Help patients with dressing, transportation, and transfers. Assist with the application and removal of casts and splints; remove sutures and staples, and apply bandages as directed. Schedule and reschedule appointments accurately; manage follow-up appointments. Collect specimens as directed and ensure proper paperwork and delivery to labs. Prepare equipment and instruments for autoclaving. Document patient care information in EMR; prepare paper charts for upcoming appointments. Contact patients for upcoming appointments to obtain history and coordinate items from other facilities. Deliver excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff. Adhere to Release of Information Guidelines and respect patient rights. Embody our mission to provide the best care possible every day.
Requirements:
Current RT(R) certificate or degree Current CPR Certification and Mandatory Reporter Certification Excellent communication skills Ability to read and interpret physician orders, safety rules, and procedure manuals Proficient in documenting patient care accurately in EMR Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift a minimum of 50 pounds Why Choose Iowa Ortho?
