Certification Full Job Description Pay Rate:
Up to $70/hr combined (taxable hourly + tax-free allowances for travel, housing, meals). Rates may vary and are subject to change. Additional Bonuses, Group Health Insurance benefits available on day 1, 401k and more! Radiologic Technologist /
Rad Tech:
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. Prepare patients, operate imaging equipment, evaluate images, document care, communicate with patients/doctors, and ensure radiation safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist. Assists with inventory/supplies. Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position. Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc. Documents accurately and completely. -Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality. Accurately informs procedural nurse of correct doses of intra-procedural medications, radiation and sponge/sharp counts.
Required Education:
Associate's Degree in Related Field. OR Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
Requirements:
BLS (American Heart Assoc.). ACLS (American Heart Assoc.). IEMA Radiography License Illinois. Radiography (R)(ARRT). Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred.
