Job Description

Securitas is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join our Safety, Security & Law Enforcement team. In this role, you will respond to medical emergencies, provide basic life support, conduct patient assessments, and coordinate with public safety and medical personnel. You will also support security operations, observe and report incidents, and help maintain a safe environment. Responsibilities Respond promptly to medical emergencies on site and provide basic life support within EMT scope of practice. Assess patient condition, stabilize, and monitor until transfer of care to higher-level medical providers. Document medical incidents, treatments, and observations clearly and accurately. Patrol assigned areas on foot or vehicle to monitor for safety and security issues. Control access to facilities, verify identification, and enforce site-specific security procedures. Observe, report, and escalate safety, security, and medical incidents according to Securitas and client protocols. Assist with evacuations, fire alarms, and other life safety responses as directed. Provide first aid, CPR, and basic medical assistance for injuries and sudden illnesses. Maintain situational awareness and a strong visible presence to deter unsafe or suspicious activity. Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, and emergency responders, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Participate in ongoing training, drills, and refresher courses in medical response and security procedures. Required Skills Emergency medical assessment and basic life support (BLS) First aid and CPR skills Patient vital signs monitoring and documentation Use of medical equipment such as AEDs, oxygen delivery, and basic airway tools Incident reporting and report writing Patrol and access control procedures Observation and situational awareness Radio and phone communications in emergency settings De-escalation and customer service skills Knowledge of basic fire and life safety procedures Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA-related practices in handling medical information
