Job Description

As an EMT with Acadian Ambulance Service, you'll deliver high-quality pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Respond to 911 calls and scheduled transports, assess patients, provide basic life support, and safely operate and load patients into ambulances. Collaborate closely with paramedics, nurses, and hospitals, maintaining accurate documentation and strict safety and infection-control protocols. Responsibilities Respond to 911 and non-emergency calls within assigned service area Assess patient condition and obtain medical history Provide basic life support, including CPR, bleeding control, and airway management Safely operate and ride in ambulances in compliance with traffic and safety regulations Lift, move, and transport patients using stretchers and other equipment Communicate patient status to paramedics, nurses, and receiving facilities Document assessments, treatments, and transport details accurately and timely Maintain ambulance, equipment, and supplies in a clean, ready state Follow all clinical protocols, safety, and infection-control procedures Participate in ongoing training, drills, and quality improvement activities Required Skills Basic life support (BLS) Patient assessment CPR and AED use Airway management (OPA/NPA, BVM) Bleeding control and shock management Emergency vehicle operations Medical documentation and e PCR systems Vital signs monitoring Safe patient lifting and moving techniques Radio and EMS communications
