Healthcare Equipment Location:
Boston, MA Area Are you a hands-on technician with commercial construction, installation, mechanical, or building systems experience? We are recruiting for a well-established manufacturer of specialized healthcare and accessibility equipment used in hospitals and long-term care facilities. This is an opportunity to join a stable organization in a field-based role where no two projects are exactly the same. As a Commercial Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, servicing, and maintaining specialized equipment at healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate enjoys practical, hands-on work, is comfortable on construction sites, and takes pride in delivering quality work and professional customer service. What You'll Be Doing Install specialized equipment in hospitals and long-term care facilities Work from blueprints, construction drawings, room layouts, and installation instructions Complete site visits and gather measurements and other information required to prepare for upcoming projects Use power tools and hand tools to safely and accurately complete installations Perform quality checks to ensure installations meet required standards Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs and preventative maintenance when needed Coordinate materials and equipment needed for installation projects Keep accurate records related to service work, testing, project activities, and customer training Provide customers and end users with training on the safe and proper operation of installed equipment Communicate professionally with customers, healthcare staff, contractors, and other project contacts Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory Follow established safety procedures and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions Support other operational activities as needed What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, equipment installation, mechanical work, electrical work, plumbing, building systems, or a similar hands-on field Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble and install equipment and components Experience working with power tools and construction equipment Comfortable using tools such as drills, saws, hand tools, tape measures, and lasers Ability to read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, and layouts Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions on job sites Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with customers and team members Professional communication and customer service skills A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship Required Qualifications OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred Valid U.S. driver's license with minimal driving infractions Ability to pass a background check High school diploma or GED Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs Basic computer skills for completing documentation and communicating with the team Compensation & Benefits Starting at $32+/hour, based on experience Full-time position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week Overtime pay when required Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement, depending on the work arrangement Comprehensive benefits package 401(k) with company matching Paid time off and holidays Life and disability insurance Employee wellness and fitness benefits Travel Requirements This position is based in the Boston area , and most projects are expected to be local. However, the successful candidate must be flexible and comfortable with travel when projects require it. Travel may account for approximately 25% of the role , depending on regional project needs. Occasional overnight and out-of-state travel may be required. A $65 per day per diem is provided for qualifying overnight travel.Please note:
