Job Description
Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Health & Safety Technician to join our team. This position will be based out of our Reading, MA or Wilmington, MA office locations. What you'll do: Conduct on-site safety inspections at active project site Prepare and review Health & Safety Plans and associated safety documents for operations at ongoing project sites Complete work site and facility audits for regulatory compliance Prepare safety inspection and safety audit summaries to communicate action items to project teams and managers Participate in workplace incident and near-miss reviews Work with the Safety Team and others to provide Health & Safety training for staff and clients Communicate and work with project personnel and managers to coordinate completion of safety and regulatory action items, track completion, and conduct follow-up as needed Provide administrative support: training, record keeping, policy review and updates Attend corporate safety meetings and group meetings Possible emergency response events including overnight and weekend work Overnight travel may be required What you will bring: Bachelor's Degree in Workplace Health & Safety Management, Environmental science or equivalent with a concentration in health and safety preferred 1-3 years of experience in the health & safety environment Successful completion of OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Proficient in MS Office Suite Highly motivated and a self-starter Ability to work across different work groups to schedule project and worksite safety reviews Keen attention to detail Strong listening, written and communication skills Ability to multi-task and be organized Flexibility to meet project schedules Valid driver's license What you could also bring: Successful completion of OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) Certification CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Experience in health & safety in wastewater/water treatment, construction, roadways, environmental or similar projects Working knowledge and proficiency in the application of OSHA regulatory requirements for environmental, construction, infrastructure operation, and maintenance and engineering projects
