Days or Nights Position Overview Baystate Health is launching the Baystate Health Staffing Optimization Team (BHSOT), a new Behavioral Resource Technician (BRT) BHSOT pool designed to provide experienced patient care and behavioral health support staff with greater flexibility while helping meet patient care and staffing needs across Western Massachusetts. As a Baystate Health BHSOT Pool BRT, you will be hired into either a Facilit y or System-Wide position. Both opportunities offer variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to work across designated patient care and behavioral health areas based on your experience and assigned clinical grouping. Choose Your Pool Opportunity Facility BRT Provide behavioral health and patient support across designated clinical areas within a specific Baystate Health facility. System-Wide BRT Provide behavioral health and patient support across designated clinical areas at multiple Baystate Health facilities. This option is designed for BRTs who enjoy greater variety and are comfortable working across the health system. Compensation differentials vary by BHSOT assignment and applicable position or clinical grouping. Responsibilities As a Baystate Health BHSOT Pool Behavioral Resource Technician, you will: Provide safety observation of the patient or patients to whom you are assigned. Maintain a safe environment and interact with patients, families, and staff in a caring and professional manner. Provide direct patient care and assistance as assigned, which may include bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning patients. Observe patients closely and recognize changes in condition, behavior, mood, or activity. Report any changes in the patient's condition or behavior to the nurse immediately . Accurately document patient observations every 15 minutes throughout the shift, in accordance with established procedures. Remain awake, alert, and attentive at all times when providing patient safety observation. Work in all areas included within the assigned g rouping. Why Join the Baystate Health BHSOT Pool? Locations & Clinical Areas Baystate Health BHSOT Pool BRTs support designated patient care and behavioral health areas throughout Western Massachusetts . Depending on your position, you may work within one Baystate Health facility or across multiple Baystate Health facilities.

Designated areas may include:

Inpatient Behavioral Health Emergency Department Medical/Surgical Observation Pediatric and Adolescent Services Psychiatric Emergency Services Other designated behavioral health and patient care areas BHSOT positions are structured around defined assignments or clinical groupings. BRTs must be able to work in all areas included within their assigned grouping. Minimum Qualifications The ideal BHSOT Pool BRT is an experienced patient care professional who is comfortable working with patients who may have behavioral health, emotional, psychiatric, or safety-related needs and who can adapt to different care environments.

Required:

High School Diploma or GED. At least 12 months of relevant patient care experience. Experience may include, but is not limited to: Behavioral health patient care. Direct patient care. Working with patients in a group home setting. Experience as a paraprofessional. Successful completion of a BRT Apprentice role for at least 1 year. Experience as a direct healthcare provider. Previous experience as a psychiatric sitter. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience. Medical Assistant (MA) experience. Home Health Aide (HHA) experience. Patient Care Assistant (PCA) experience. CPR through the American Heart Association BLS Provider certification required prior to start . CPI certification required within 6 months of employment. Compensation & Benefits Full-Time and Part-Time positions are benefit-eligible based on the applicable FTE and position . Behavioral Resource Technicians receive applicable compensation differentials based on their Facility or System-Wide assignment and applicable shift or clinical grouping . Additional premium pay programs may apply when eligibility requirements are met. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience.
