As a Medtech, you will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals across various care settings, including senior living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Duties Assist with medication administration, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to prescribed schedules while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to track residents' health status. Support residents with personal care activities including bathing, grooming, mobility assistance, and feeding—especially for individuals with dementia or memory care needs. Document medical records accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure all documentation complies with medical terminology standards. Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to identify changes in patient condition; escalate concerns promptly to nursing staff. Assist with specialized procedures such as tube feeding, catheter care, and managing residents with complex needs like Alzheimer's or hospice care. Maintain a safe environment by practicing manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed at all times. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of senior care, dementia care, hospice support, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Certification in First Aid and CPR (including Basic Life Support) is required; additional certifications in medical documentation or medication administration are advantageous. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner enhances efficiency in medical record keeping. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and HIPAA regulations ensures compliance and quality care delivery. Experience working with geriatric patients or those requiring memory care supports your ability to provide empathetic and effective assistance. Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety standards.
