Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver/Med Tech, where your dedication and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents in senior living and healthcare facilities. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, assist with daily activities, and support medical needs with professionalism and empathy. Your efforts will foster a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for individuals with diverse health conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and other chronic illnesses. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine caregiving with medical technology skills to enhance resident well-being and quality of life. Duties Deliver comprehensive personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any abnormalities promptly. Assist with medical procedures including tube feeding, catheter care, and basic life support (BLS) or CPR when necessary. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect resident confidentiality. Support residents with memory care needs and dementia or Alzheimer's care by implementing specialized techniques to promote safety and comfort. Follow state healthcare regulations and facility policies to ensure safe manual handling, heavy lifting, and proper use of assistive devices during resident care. Communicate effectively with team members regarding resident status updates and care plans using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or similar platforms. Provide hospice or palliative care support as needed, demonstrating compassion during sensitive moments. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate medical records management and adherence to all relevant healthcare standards. Qualifications Prior assisted living experience or senior care background highly preferred; experience working in nursing homes or hospitals is advantageous. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and senior health issues such as dementia or memory care is essential. Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), basic life support (BLS), and HIPAA compliance required; additional certifications like EHR systems training are a plus. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Cerner or similar electronic health record platforms is preferred. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while maintaining resident dignity. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to foster trust and teamwork. Valid license from the State Board of Nursing or relevant healthcare authority required for Med Tech responsibilities. Knowledge of state healthcare regulations governing patient privacy, medication administration, and safety standards is essential. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is desirable; familiarity with hospice or acute care settings is beneficial. Join us in providing exceptional care that enriches lives! We are committed to supporting our caregivers through ongoing training opportunities, a collaborative work environment, and a focus on your professional growth—all while ensuring you are paid for your vital contributions every step of the way.
