Will be responsible for cleaning locker rooms, restrooms and fitness equipmentSafety is a self-responsibility. Know the physical requirements of the job and work within those guidelines. Perform job duties safely at all times, utilizing learned body mechanics and transferring/lifting techniques. Plan your actions to promote safety. Report any unsafe situations/equipment according to established procedure. Reports any equipment concerns to manager and tag equipment out of service if not functioning properly.
Responsible for scheduling appointments and classes for customers and therefore must have a working knowledge of classes offered and other pertinent class info. Communicates scheduled appointments to program providers. Provides information to promote center members' understanding of procedures, exercises, classes and equipment. Has knowledge of membership rates, options, and other fees.
Answers phones and directs inquiries as appropriate. Receives documentation over facsimile machine and distributes/files appropriately. Maintains daily cash sheet. Completes center opening and closing duties.
Greets every visitor and center member in friendly and helpful manner to provide a professional and welcoming environment. Provides tours to potential members and new members.
Instructs/assists new members in proper equipment usage and basic exercise programs. Has knowledge of basic exercise programs in order to upgrade and/or change programs requested by members.
QualificationsWhat's Required High school graduate.
First Aid and CPR certification required.
Experience in office procedures required.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal relationship skills required.
Ability to complete clerical tasks with high degree of accuracy required.
Working knowledge of medical/fitness terminology desired.
Previous experience in fitness center or public contact setting desired.

Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned fitness center. Walks and stands most of the time while on duty as well as sitting. May be subject to elements of time pressure and interruptions of activities. May be asked to alter schedule to meet fitness center needs. May teach fitness center classes.
