Duties Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, accurately documenting all findings in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Provide medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatments while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health challenges through compassionate engagement and tailored assistance. Maintain a safe environment by following aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and phlebotomy; ensure infection control protocols are strictly observed. Assist with patient transfers using proper transfer methods and equipment; operate medical devices safely during patient handling. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical documentation systems; communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status updates or concerns. Skills Proven experience working as a CNA or in similar caregiving roles within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or assisted living communities. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS/CPR) procedures essential for delivering quality patient care. Experience caring for geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, or behavioral health needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices; physically capable of manual handling tasks required during patient transfers or mobility assistance. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate caregiver communication to patients and families.
