Job Description
Performs directed patient care for an assigned group of patients. The ER Technician functions within the scope of approved department and organizational policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities include collecting selected patient information, providing directed emergency patient care under the supervision of the RN/LPN, stocking supplies, cleaning patient rooms, transporting patients, and assisting with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the department. Education High school diploma or GED preferred. Currently enrolled in a nursing or EMT program preferred. Certification Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification required. Special Qualifications Ability to cope with frequent exposure to unpleasant sights, odors, and challenging patient or family behaviors. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate professionally in a non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and remain calm in stressful or emergency situations. Physical Demands Must possess good physical and mental health. Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations. Must have the physical stamina necessary to perform required job duties in a healthcare environment.
