Job Description

Patient Care Tech Contact Recruitment Office at jobs@mrhc.org This position is for Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN status on various units (Depending on openings) This position is not a clerical position. This is a direct patient care position!
Basic Purpose:
Provides direct and indirect patient care in an individual patient care setting consistent with the nursing department's standard of care. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, department staff and medical staff. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge. Prepares and compiles medical records. Initiates direction from physician and nursing staff. Participates in PI activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.
Qualifications Education:
High school graduate or
GED Licensure:
N/A Experience:
Preferred but not required.
Special Skills:
Phone etiquette, fax skills, basic typing and keyboard skills.
Language/Communication/Organizational Skills:
Ability to speak effectively and in a professional manner to patients, staff, visitors, etc.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to apply basic math skills
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, staff, visitors, etc.
Work Environment Physical Demands:
Able to sit, stand; talk, hear alarms; use hands and fingers to feel and touch; push; pull; crouch or crawl; stoop; knee; reach with hands and arms; taste and smell. May be required to exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or 10 lbs constantly. This job has vision requirements and the ability to judge depth perception.
