Williams Community Health Center, Inc. | Charlotte, NC Turn Healthcare Data Into Better Patient Care C.W. Williams Community Health Center is looking for a Health Information Technologist who can connect healthcare, technology, and data to help improve patient care and how we operate. In this role, you'll work with clinical, administrative, financial, and operational teams to improve data quality, optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems, build useful reports and dashboards, identify trends, and turn data into actionable information. What You'll Do Health Information & EHR Technology Maintain the accuracy, integrity, accessibility, and security of patient health information. Review and validate medical records and electronic health information. Use EHR and other health information systems to retrieve, manage, validate, and analyze data. Identify and resolve data-quality issues, discrepancies, duplicates, and inconsistencies. Support EHR implementation, upgrades, testing, optimization, and workflow improvements. Partner with clinical and administrative teams to improve EHR workflows and system functionality. Support data integration and exchange among EHR, billing, pharmacy, laboratory, referral, and other healthcare systems. Monitor data flows and interfaces for errors or missing information. Maintain documentation for data definitions, workflows, reports, and analytical processes. Train and support staff on documentation practices, EHR functionality, data quality, and health information systems. Healthcare Data Analytics Collect, clean, validate, organize, and analyze clinical, operational, financial, and organizational data. Create reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other tools that support decision-making. Analyze trends, utilization, productivity, patient access, and operational performance. Perform exploratory and statistical data analysis. Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Support forecasting, regression, classification, and predictive analytics. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient access, quality, resource utilization, and financial performance. Automate and improve manual reporting and data-management processes. Respond to data and reporting requests from leadership and departments. Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field . 3+ years of experience in health information management, medical records, healthcare data analytics, health IT, or a related healthcare environment. Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) or healthcare information systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare operations. Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate findings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle protected health information (PHI). Preferred Qualifications Experience in a community health center, FQHC, or public health setting . Experience with Athenahealth or a similar EHR. Experience developing healthcare dashboards and performance reports. Experience with clinical quality, UDS, operational, financial, or revenue-cycle data. Experience with EHR optimization, health IT implementation, or clinical informatics.
