Duties Respond swiftly to emergency calls, providing immediate assessment and stabilization of patients in various settings. Operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently through city streets, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history collection. Manage airway procedures, administer basic life support (BLS), and assist with trauma care and cardiovascular emergency responses. Utilize medical equipment such as DME (Durable Medical Equipment), venipuncture tools, and medication administration devices accurately. Document patient conditions, treatments provided, and incident details clearly and promptly in electronic or paper records. Coordinate with hospital staff during patient transport, ensuring smooth transfer of care at Level I or Level II trauma centers or urgent care facilities. Requirements Valid EMT certification with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proven experience in emergency medicine or related fields such as hospital or trauma center settings; critical care experience is highly valued but not required. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, trauma medicine, and incident command procedures. Experience with patient assessment techniques including vital signs monitoring and physical examinations. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and effectively during high-pressure situations. Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and coordination with team members and healthcare facilities. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, patient transport, and urgent care procedures; familiarity with aseptic techniques is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; proficiency in city street navigation and emergency vehicle operation required.
