Responsibilities Review and audit medical records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and facility policies. Verify medication administration records and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities. Conduct regular assessments of patient care procedures, including vital signs, tube feeding, catheter care, and dementia or memory care protocols. Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor adherence to care plans and identify areas for quality improvement. Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance protocols related to resident personal care assistance and medical documentation. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and facility standards. Support staff training on medical terminology, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner, and compliance with safety procedures like first aid and CPR. Requirements Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of geriatric patient needs, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and senior living facility operations. Familiarity with medical documentation practices, EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, and medical terminology. Certification in first aid, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and medication administration is highly preferred. Understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to senior and geriatric patients. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective caregiver communication and team collaboration. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to work within state healthcare regulations and adhere to all safety protocols.
