Creative Living Lifestyles is a nonprofit organization providing services and supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Our Vocational Habilitation (Voc-Hab) programs provide individuals with opportunities to develop workplace skills, increase independence, explore their interests, and participate in meaningful work activities. We are seeking dependable, positive, and motivated Vocational Trainers to work alongside individuals at our various vocational program sites. As a Vocational Trainer, you will provide hands-on instruction, support, and encouragement while helping individuals learn and perform job-related tasks. This position is about more than completing the work—you will help individuals develop the skills, confidence, independence, and work habits that can help them succeed. Our vocational programs include a variety of settings and activities, such as animal care, coffee production and packaging, food service, greenhouse and agricultural activities, assembly and production work, creative programs, and other hands-on vocational opportunities. Responsibilities Provide hands-on vocational training and support to adults with developmental disabilities. Teach job tasks using clear instruction, demonstration, repetition, and positive reinforcement. Encourage individuals to complete tasks as independently as possible while providing appropriate assistance when needed. Help individuals develop workplace skills including attendance, communication, teamwork, organization, productivity, and appropriate workplace behavior. Assist with the daily operation of the assigned vocational program or worksite. Perform program-specific duties alongside the individuals being supported. Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment. Monitor individuals' safety and well-being while participating in vocational activities. Recognize individual strengths, abilities, interests, and areas where additional support may be needed. Communicate effectively with individuals, coworkers, supervisors, and other members of the individual's support team. Complete required documentation accurately and on time. Follow Individual Service Plans (ISPs), behavioral supports, health and safety requirements, and other established procedures. Assist individuals with personal care or other support needs when required by their individual plans. Follow all applicable DODD requirements, company policies, safety procedures, and reporting requirements. Complete required training and continuing education. Transport individuals or operate company vehicles when required by the program. Perform other duties related to the operation of the vocational program as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to pass required background checks and other employment requirements. Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, encouraging, and comfortable working with individuals with varying abilities and support needs. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn the specific skills and operations of the assigned vocational program. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required . Experience related to the specific program—such as animal care, food service, production, agriculture, or other hands-on work—is helpful but not required . We will train the right candidate! Physical Requirements Because our vocational programs involve hands-on activities, employees may be required to stand or walk for extended periods, bend, reach, lift and carry materials, work indoors or outdoors, and perform other physical tasks appropriate to the assigned program.
