Cleveland Clinic specializes in comprehensive surgical services for patients of all ages. With a focus on advanced technology, the Mentor Hospital Pre-Op and Operating Rooms provide the opportunity to gain valuable experience while helping facilitate the best healthcare experience possible. As a Clinical Technician, you will assist with basic patient care, maintain room cleanliness and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience, enhance your skills, and pursue career growth within the Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. You must have the ability to float to Hillcrest Hospital. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, patient transfers/transport, applying external monitoring devices, further technical skills of phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG's and removing urinary Foley Catheters. Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN. Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross before within new hire period (Nursing Students required to have BLS prior to hire) One year of recent, full-time patient care experience Additional education/training may substitute for some/all of the stated experience (i.e. mental health experience) Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level
Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$19.25 Maximum hourly: $25.95 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
