Job Description

Located at our Atrium Patient Service Center (Middletown, OH) Full-time Day Shift; Monday Through Friday (7:30 AM-4:30 PM)
Position Summary:
Promotes and practices prompt and courteous customer service at all times. Organizes patient flow. Collects and enters patient information into appropriate electronic ordering system.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients professionally; give name, wait time, and communicate delays. Maintain patient order; resolve and document incomplete requisitions. Contact providers for missing/unclear orders or DX codes. Answer phones and check/respond to voicemails and faxes 3x daily. Call patients for recollects; file or follow up on faxes; audit fax file monthly. Check for orders in Atlas, EPIC, and fax file. Accept and log drop-off specimens; verify info and deliver to processing. Provide collection kits and instructions. Address patient questions; verify or create demographics in Atlas. Offer copy requests and promote "My Labs Now." Post schedules/memos; take payments and assist others as needed. Request insurance card ready for phlebotomy. Arrange STAT transportation; record confirmation. Enter supply orders when requested. Follow all compliance, regulatory, and company policies. Assist with PSC reports and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Patient Service Center employees must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and cleaning driving record. Must maintain auto liability insurance in accordance with state law as well as meet and maintain CompuNet's corporate insurance carrier's auto liability standards.
Safety & Physical Demands:
Ability to organize and complete work in an efficient and timely manner. Good communication skills. Weekend rotation as scheduled per department policy. Possible exposure to chemical, biological and/or radioactive hazards. Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals. Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies. Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas. Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly.
