Job Description

EMT Supervisor The EMT Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day field operations of the company's non-emergent ambulance, convalescent, and wheelchair transportation services. This position supervises field personnel, fleet readiness, safety, training, and daily staffing while serving as the primary Human Resources representative for field employees. This role reports to the Director of Operations and oversees Field Training Officers (FTOs), EMTs, Drivers, and Wheelchair Drivers. Operations & Field Supervision Supervise daily ambulance, convalescent, and wheelchair transportation operations Coordinate with Dispatch to maintain adequate staffing and unit coverage Monitor crew performance, attendance, punctuality, and professionalism Ensure compliance with company policies and South Carolina EMS regulations Respond to operational issues, staffing shortages, vehicle breakdowns, and service interruptions Human Resources & Personnel Supervise field employees and serve as the primary HR contact for field operations Recruit, interview, and recommend applicants for employment Conduct employee orientation and field onboarding Complete performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and employee recognition Investigate employee complaints and workplace issues, forwarding significant matters to the Director Maintain employee schedules, attendance, leave requests, and overtime documentation Ensure personnel files, training records, certifications, and required documentation are current and submitted to Human Resources Recommend promotions, corrective actions, suspensions, and terminations to the Director of Operations Fleet, Equipment & Safety Ensure ambulances and wheelchair vehicles are clean, stocked, safe, and ready for service Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and vehicle readiness Monitor equipment, oxygen, medical supplies, and vehicle inventories Respond to vehicle accidents, employee injuries, and operational incidents Complete investigations and submit incident documentation to the Director Training & Quality Assurance Oversee the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program Assign and monitor new employee training and competency evaluations Conduct quality assurance reviews of field performance and documentation Identify training needs and provide continuing education and remediation Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and exceptional patient care Other Assist with field coverage or staffing shortages Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Operations or Owner /
