Responsibilities Respond promptly to emergency calls and arrive equipped to provide immediate patient stabilization and care Perform vital signs assessment, cardiac rhythm analysis, and monitor patient status using specialized equipment such as EKGs and pulse oximeters Perform procedures including catheterization, IV insertion, venipuncture, phlebotomy, laboratory, and specimen collection under supervision or independently as trained Support advanced life support measures including CPR and basic life support techniques during cardiac or respiratory emergencies Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique to prevent infection Document clinical information accurately using electronic medical records systems and communicate patient status clearly to the healthcare team Assist with heavy lifting of patients and equipment while adhering to safety protocols and hospital policies Qualifications Prior hospital or emergency room experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with acute care environments Proven skills in patient care procedures such as IV insertion, venipuncture, catheterization, and specimen collection Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and cardiac rhythm analysis Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are a plus Ability to operate medical equipment safely and effectively in high-pressure situations Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and teamwork within fast-paced settings Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and moving patients as needed This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in emergency medicine while making a tangible difference in patients' lives.
