Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and transfer methods. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support clinical procedures by maintaining aseptic technique during injections, catheter care, phlebotomy, and medication administration. Assist healthcare professionals during complex medical interventions in various settings such as ICU, OR, emergency departments, and psychiatric units. Ensure patient safety through safe manual handling practices and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of medical records and sensitive information. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to provide updates on patient status and coordinate care plans. Maintain a clean and organized environment by following infection control protocols and proper disposal of biohazard materials. Experience Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home & community care settings. Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) and medical documentation standards. Critical care experience in units such as ICU or trauma centers is highly valued; familiarity with Level I & II trauma center protocols is a plus. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia (Alzheimer's care, memory care) is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques to ensure safe patient handling and effective caregiving. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices; experience with patient transfer methods using Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, Phlebotomy certification, and HIPAA compliance are required or highly desirable for this role.
