Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing critical care and assessment at the scene of incidents. Operate emergency vehicles safely while navigating city streets efficiently to reach patients quickly. Perform patient evaluations, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed assessments to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses. Manage airway control, cardiovascular emergencies, trauma care, pediatric emergencies, and neonatal resuscitation procedures with precision. Administer medications and injections following established protocols; operate medical equipment such as DME (Durable Medical Equipment) devices. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like venipuncture and injections to ensure patient safety and infection control. Communicate effectively with incident command teams, healthcare facilities, and first responders to coordinate patient care and transport logistics. Experience Proven EMT experience with demonstrated proficiency in emergency medicine response procedures. Critical care experience within hospital settings or trauma centers, including Level I or Level II trauma center exposure. Hands-on experience in patient transport, airway management, and cardiovascular emergency response. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and trauma medicine essential for accurate patient assessment. Familiarity with emergency vehicle operation, city street navigation, heavy lifting techniques, and urgent care protocols. Experience in pediatric emergency care and neonatal resuscitation procedures is highly desirable. Prior roles involving incident command during complex emergencies or trauma situations are a plus.
