About the Job The Inpatient Education Administrator oversees the Midnight Sun Academy within FCSA's Residential Treatment Center. provides leadership, management, and supervision for a high-quality learning environment, consistent with the law, board policies, and administrative regulations. The Administrator oversees all phases of school operation and curricular offerings, as well as assigned staff and student supervision. This position will coordinate with clinical and therapeutic staff to ensure both the educational and therapeutic needs of students are met appropriately. Responsibilities Promotes shared vision with individuals and groups, facilitates teamwork and collegiality. Formulates goals, establishes priorities, and develops action plans to accomplish the school's mission. Provides leadership in expectations of high student achievement and communicates effective instructional methods. Knows, understands, and facilitates aligned standards-based curriculum, methods, and technology. Successfully implements assessment policy. Acts to ensure safety and security of students, personnel, and school property within the school facility, on grounds, and in school-related activities off school property. Coordinates programs and services that promote student safety, growth, development, and responsibility. Coordinates the interview and selection process to identify and recommend quality personnel for hire. Assigns staff appropriately. Supervises and evaluates staff through a positive process designed to improve skills, instructional programs, and support services. Provides opportunities for professional development. Motivates staff to participate in professional development. Administers and acts in accordance with federal and state laws, FCSA policies, and regulations. Works within FCSA policies, procedures, and directives. Administers school's budget, financial accounts, and contracts consistent with FCSA procedures; and in a responsible, accurate, and effective manner. Knows, understands, and acts in accordance with process required for FCSA's compliance with special education and civil rights laws and regulations. Administers student discipline according to FCSA policies and regulations, in a fair and consistent manner. Recognizes and acts with understanding of the social, racial, cultural, political, and economic forces that influence a positive school environment. Actively seeks the involvement of diverse family and community members in all facets of the school program. Provides a supportive and respectful school environment. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, guidance and counseling, or other closely related human service area required. Active State of Alaska Teaching Certification required with 6-12 certification preferred. An Alaska Type B administrative certificate prior to employment preferred. Experience working with at-risk youth in alternative learning settings preferred. Computer literate with knowledge of instructional technology. Demonstrated skills in staff motivation, development, and supervision. Strong interpersonal skills, awareness of positive student discipline procedures, and skills in parent relationships and community involvement. Physical ability to employ Verbal and Physical aggression control techniques after being certified. (Ability to Physically Restrain adolescent clients). This may require you to lift 40 lbs., bend your knees, extend arms and shoulders and other physical movements necessary to safely restrain a client. Current first aid and CPR certificate or ability to become certified. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Current Alaska driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and driving history that allows for insurability by FCSA auto insurance carrier. Freedom from criminal convictions that may adversely affect the employee's ability to work safely with children, contingent on a fingerprint & background records check conducted by the State of Alaska Division of Health Care Services Background Check Unit. Today, FCSA has over 100 employees dedicated to our mission of providing unconditional care to children and their families. FCSA provides behavioral and mental health services to youth aged 5-19. Services include outpatient therapy, education, foster care, and short or long-term residential treatment. FCSA is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and was one of the first organizations to be licensed by the state to establish, recruit, and monitor foster homes.

Pay:

$74,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
