Job Description

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor / Counselor to join our Behavioral Health Department in Sierra Vista, Arizona. This role provides clinical oversight to unlicensed behavioral health staff while maintaining a reduced outpatient counseling caseload. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to high-quality, compliant behavioral health services. The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor / Counselor oversees the clinical development and supervision of unlicensed staff while providing direct counseling services for a limited patient panel. This position ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Arizona state statutes and AHCCCS requirements.
Compensation:
$76,138 - $95,172
Responsibilities:
Provide clinical supervision and oversight to unlicensed Behavioral Health staff (BHTs, Case Managers, Substance Abuse/Mental Health staff) in accordance with Arizona law and AHCCCS requirements. Deliver clinical leadership, education, and training, including DSM use, intake assessments, treatment planning, and ART/CFT facilitation. Review and approve clinical documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness. Lead individual and group supervision meetings, case reviews, and staff trainings focused on best practices and quality care. Maintain licensure, CEU compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Carry a reduced outpatient counseling caseload (up to 50% of work time), including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and ongoing therapy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in departmental and leadership meetings as needed.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field. Independently licensed in the State of Arizona in the applicable field. Board certification relevant to the position. Current BLS certification (may be obtained within 90 days of hire). Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card. Comprehensive knowledge of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health licensing and supervision requirements. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance (required if requesting mileage reimbursement).
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience. Minimum of two (2) years providing counseling services. Administrative or executive leadership experience preferred.
