Scholars Program Great afterschool programs don't happen by accident. The YMCA Y Scholars Program is looking for Site Coordinators ready to take ownership of a school-based program from the ground up. You'll lead a team of youth development professionals, build strong partnerships with families and school leaders, and turn our program vision into something students can see, feel, and experience every afternoon. Monday-Friday, typically 10:00 AM-6:30
PM Summer Schedule:
8-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM-6:00

http://map.ymcayscholars.org This Is a Leadership Role As a Site Coordinator, you aren't simply keeping an afterschool program running. You're responsible for making it better. You'll set expectations for your team, establish the culture of your site, coach staff toward stronger performance, and make the decisions necessary to deliver a safe, organized, engaging, and high-quality program. Some days you'll be coaching a team member. Other days you'll be meeting with a principal, reviewing attendance trends, solving an operational challenge, talking with a family, or jumping directly into program activities. Every day requires leadership. What You'll OwnLead Your Team Supervise, motivate, and develop your site's program staff Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable Provide frequent coaching, observations, and actionable feedback Build a team culture centered on growth, collaboration, urgency, and student success Train and onboard new team members so they're prepared to succeed Run a Strong Program Oversee the day-to-day operation of your school site Establish dependable systems, schedules, routines, and staff assignments Maintain safe and effective program environments Ensure staff consistently deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities Respond quickly and effectively when challenges arise Raise the Bar on Quality Observe program activities and assess staff performance Use program, attendance, and quality data to identify opportunities for improvement Turn observations into coaching, action plans, and measurable changes Apply youth development and expanded learning best practices throughout the program Continuously look for ways to make the student experience stronger Build Strong Partnerships Develop trusted relationships with school administrators, teachers, and staff Communicate professionally and proactively with families Collaborate with community partners and program providers Represent the YMCA and Y Scholars Program with professionalism and integrity Own the Details Manage site resources and budget responsibilities Maintain accurate attendance, program, and operational information Stay organized while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines Support special events, initiatives, trainings, and other program needs What You'll BringMinimum Qualifications At least 2 years of youth development experience At least 1 year of staff supervision or program management experience 48 college units OR a passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam Reliable transportation and ability to travel between program sites and meetings Ability to successfully clear DOJ/FBI background checks Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications within 30 days of hire; training is provided You'll Thrive Here If You...
