Duties Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing inquiries regarding treatment options. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using phone systems and scheduling software. Assist patients in understanding their treatment plans, including explanations of procedures, costs, and insurance coverage. Maintain accurate health information management records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process insurance claims, including Medicare, and verify patient eligibility for benefits. Utilize ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses and treatments. Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized patient records. Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care and treatment updates. Requirements Proven experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is preferred. Strong phone etiquette with the ability to handle multiple calls professionally. Familiarity with health information management practices and systems. Knowledge of Medicare processes and ICD-9 coding is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
