Job Summary We are building an 8,000 square foot interventional psychiatry clinic in Loma Linda, a mile and a half from the Pettis VA and Loma Linda University Medical Center and directly across the street from the VA Ambulatory Care Center. The clinic will deliver
TMS, SPRAVATO, IV
ketamine, psychotherapy and EMDR, psychological testing, and a structured group program, alongside a nine-station telehealth department operating from inside the building. We are hiring one psychiatrist to run clinical operations. This is the second physician in the practice and the first clinical hire — not a slot in an existing rotation.
Timing:
The facility is in permit review. We are extending an offer now with a start date tied to opening, currently targeted for March 2027. We will be direct with you about the schedule at every step, and we can discuss a phased start or a consulting arrangement during the build if your current situation requires notice. The role You will be the primary prescriber across the in-clinic and virtual departments and the supervising physician for our nurse practitioners and therapists.
Specifically:
Deliver and oversee TMS, SPRAVATO and IV ketamine protocols, working alongside an RN in five dedicated treatment rooms Carry a psychiatric panel spanning in-clinic evaluation and virtual follow-up care Serve as supervising physician for PMHNPs — including standardized procedures, weekly case review and chart audit sampling, all of which are budgeted and scheduled, not squeezed in Own clinical scheduling, treatment planning and coverage for the practice Help shape protocols, the adolescent TMS program and the group therapy program as they launch You will work alongside our Medical Director, a practicing physician who retains medical directorship of record, protocol and formulary approval, and final clinical authority — the structure California requires of a professional medical corporation. Within that, the scope delegated to this role is wide, and it will be in writing before you start: daily clinical operations, prescribing, treatment supervision, clinical scheduling and coverage, and first-line supervision of clinical staff. In practice it also means you are not the only physician in the building. Coverage, second opinions and taking an actual vacation are not problems you will be solving alone. Why this practice Interventional work with continuity. Most interventional clinics treat an episode and lose the patient. Our telehealth department carries intake, between-treatment therapy and long-term maintenance, so you follow patients through the whole arc rather than handing them back to a referrer. A real veteran population. More than 65,000 veterans are served by the Pettis VA within our catchment. We are contracting with the VA Community Care Network through TriWest, alongside Medicare, Medi-Cal, IEHP, TRICARE and commercial plans. Treatment-resistant depression and PTSD will be a substantial share of the panel. Staffed to support you. Dedicated RN for infusion and
SPRAVATO
monitoring, TMS technicians, a prior authorization coordinator from month one, and a billing, credentialing and RCM team. You will not be chasing auths or building your own schedule. Training provided. If you have strong general psychiatry experience but limited neuromodulation exposure, say so in your note. We will fund and schedule
SPRAVATO REMS
certification, TMS device training and ketamine protocol training. We would rather hire the right physician and train the modality. What we are looking for Required MD or DO with an active, unrestricted California medical license Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one before start Willingness to serve as supervising physician for nurse practitioners Valued, not required TMS, SPRAVATO, or ketamine / KAP experience Adolescent experience — our TMS program is cleared for ages 15 and up Buprenorphine and MAT prescribing, including telemedicine induction Experience with veterans, treatment-resistant depression, or PTSD Spanish Compensation and benefits Market $200,000 and up depending on experience An equity or profit-sharing interest in the practice. This is a real component, not a gesture, and we will put the specifics in front of you in writing early in the conversation rather than at the offer stage. We will also be straight about the timeline: the practice projects a thin first year and meaningful margin from year two onward, so this is a stake in what we build together, not near-term income. Malpractice coverage paid by the practice To apply Send your CV to A.le@Neuro-Beginnings.com with a short note on what draws you to interventional work and what your realistic start window looks like. Our Medical Director reviews every application personally and will speak with you directly early in the process. We aim to respond within 3-5 business days.
