  • As our Medical Staff Coordinator, you'll provide vital administrative support to the Medical Staff Office, managing efficient credentialing, privileging, and re-credentialing processes, thereby maintaining compliance and supporting quality care.

Every day you will manage credentialing cycles (applications, verification, files) and support Medical Staff Committees (materials, minutes, communication). You'll ensure regulatory compliance, maintain the medical staff database, and serve as a resource. To succeed, you need meticulous attention to detail, strong organization, deep understanding of credentialing, excellent communication, and a commitment to confidentiality and compliance.

+ Using the assistance of the Credentials Coordinator, initiates, analyzes, administers, verifies, compiles, manages, and maintains confidential research required for credentialing of initial appointees and for continuous credentialing/reappointment for members of assigned department(s).

+ Oversees and maintains documentation for continuous credentialing purposes. Communicates appropriate information to internal and external customers- including answering outside requests for activity and affiliation requests.

+ Maintains current records of proctoring for all provisional physicians as well as those physicians seeking new privileges. Assures appropriate review of proctoring reports. Explains proctoring information to new physicians. Communicates proctoring status to appropriate hospital departments such as nursing, surgery, OB, ICU, ER, etc.

+ Completes work in a timely manner according to guidelines outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.

+ Attends meetings and provides guidance, resources and support to Medical Staff officers, committee and department chairpersons. Develops agenda, consults with department chairpersons and officers.

+ Prepares and maintains accurate and timely documentation of Medical Staff management and peer review monitoring activities following legal guidelines, TJC and other federal and state requirements. Assures timely follow up action is taken.
