A Healthcare Administrator directs and coordinates delivery of health care and medical services. Manages finances and recordkeeping and communications with medical staff. Works to improve quality and efficiency. May run smaller medical practices or work in specialized areas within large hospitals or health care systems.
Supervises and supports all care team staff, ensuring adequate staffing to provide service. Coordinates patient care by working closely with Physicians and department Leads to assure all patient needs are met. Facilitates timely billing submission to the Business Office, ensuring that all necessary supporting documentation is include Works with other departments to improve data collection mechanisms for obtaining and distributing required patient data. This includes Information Systems, Quality, Population Health, and other departments. Provides regular department and program specific reports for administration, and senior management. Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates regular office meetings. Acts as liaison and a central point of contact between inpatient and outpatient care providers and departments, patients, staff, and external service providers. Responsible for ordering supplies and equipment required for TMPN Pediatrics. Responsible with processing account payables. Participates in maintaining financial stability by controlling operating expenses and monitoring staffing needs for the department. Responsible for securing all monies, protecting against loss, and the reconciliation of cash at the end of each shift. Provides orientation, training, and guidance to new staff. Ensures that all office areas are adequately staffed to provide service and acts as a backup when necessary. Responsible with selecting, training, terminating, and counseling support staff. Presents timely performance evaluations. Monitors and approves support staff timecards. Monitors employees' Combined Time OFF (CTO), Non-Scheduled Combined Time OFF (NSCTO), Unscheduled absences. Determines and changes work assignments as needed. Prepares and modifies physician appointment schedules. Responsible for consistently exhibiting polite, courteous, and professional behaviors by adhering to Customer Service Standards and Conditions of Employment. Investigates and resolves physician or patient complaints, maintains the necessary documentation, and alerts the appropriate person with minimal delay. Develops best practice protocols and workflows to maintain standards of care and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements. Clinic Administrator and Director of Operations Requirements:
High School graduate or GED equivalent. College degreed preferred. Strong leadership experience as a Lead for a Clinic. Two - five years of experience as a Medical Assistant. Two or more years experience in Pediatrics. Certification in Medical Assisting - From NHA ore other accredited organization. Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, departments, and other internal and external customers. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to determine, obtain, and collate specific information to develop reports. Ability to coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary meetings. Excellent organizational skills. Computer literate. Flexible, professional, and customer service oriented.
