Patient Coordinator / Medical Receptionist
Job Description
Join Our Team Advanced Vein Center is a medical practice focused on providing exceptional care for patients with vein disease. We are seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Patient Coordinator / Medical Receptionist to become an essential member of our team. Why This Role Is Important As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a critical role in creating an outstanding patient experience while ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. As a specialty medical practice, a significant portion of our patient experience involves helping patients understand insurance benefits, treatment coverage, out-of-pocket expenses, and scheduling requirements. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working in a medical office environment and are comfortable communicating insurance-related information clearly and professionally to patients. Primary Responsibilities Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience Complete all chart prep requirements for every patient visit 7 days out Answer phones and respond to patient questions Schedule consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Understand and explain the preauthorization process to patients Understand, present, and explain patient cost estimates Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments Explain insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR Monitor and complete all EMR assigned tasks Monitor and maintain group practice email Coordinate communication between patients and providers Assist patients with forms and required paperwork Provide direct assistance with patient care and preparing examination rooms as needed Maintain accuracy in filing insurance-related documents, EOBs, and authorizations Provide exceptional customer service to promote patient satisfaction and retention Preferred Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office environment Experience with patient scheduling and medical reception duties Strong customer service and communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy Basic computer proficiency: Excel, Outlook, Teams Strongly Preferred Experience verifying health insurance benefits Experience discussing insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility with patients Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically DrChrono Experience in a specialty medical practice Spanish or other fluency Education Medical office, healthcare administration, or related experience preferred Medical Assistant certification is welcome but not required About Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate is a motivated professional who enjoys helping patients navigate the healthcare system. Pay:
