Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Mental Health Program Supervisor to lead our behavioral health initiatives and support the well-being of diverse populations. The ideal candidate will possess understanding of medication management with extensive experience in mental health services, crisis intervention, and case management. Must have a strong background in working with children, adolescents, and adults with mental health impairments. As a vital member of our team, you will oversee day to day clinic operations, supervise staff, and ensure the delivery of comprehensive mental health services aligned with best practices and regulatory standards. Duties Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and guidance to assigned staff. Oversee new client admissions, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning to ensure timely access to care and a positive client experience throughout the enrollment process. Monitor the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of clinical services. Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, medical necessity, and compliance with Medi-Cal, Medicare, and regulatory requirements. Support assessment, treatment planning, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and discharge planning processes. Coordinate crisis intervention efforts and effectively manage emergency situations to ensure client safety, risk mitigation, and continuity of care. Assist with the management of high-risk clients, including individuals experiencing psychiatric crisis, hospitalization, suicidal ideation, or complex behavioral health needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, therapists, case managers, and community partners, to ensure comprehensive case management and integrated service delivery for clients with complex behavioral health needs. Develop, implement, and monitor program protocols that adhere to HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies. Monitor clinical outcomes through data collection, quality improvement activities, outcome measurement, and progress tracking to enhance program effectiveness and patient care outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilization review activities, audits, and corrective action planning. Lead staff development efforts by providing mentorship, coaching, performance evaluations, clinical consultation, and ongoing education to support professional growth and service excellence. Promote evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented practices. Support clinical decision-making and ensure adherence to professional standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification required. Extensive experience in behavioral health settings with proficiency in mental health counseling techniques including psychotherapy and clinical research.Demonstrated expertise in crisis management with solid understanding of behavioral therapy modalities and working with children, adolescents, and adults with mental health disabilities. Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention and behavioral health services, with comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and experience working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health disorders and complex behavioral health needs. Knowledge of medical records management, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and HIPAA compliance standards. Strong knowledge of Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Services, documentation requirements, utilization management, and quality assurance processes. Experience working with individuals experiencing serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and complex behavioral health needs. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment. Excellent communication skills for engaging clients across diverse backgrounds including pediatrics and special education populations. $80,721.67 - $91,000.00 per year
