Non-Exempt Position Summary The RCM Lead Oral Surgery/Surgery Center Specialist plays a key role in supporting and training both front office practice teams and internal Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) staff on Oral Surgery and Surgery Center accounts receivable (AR) workflows. This position balances a dual responsibility of providing hands-on training while also managing an assigned portfolio of Oral Surgery and Surgery Center AR. The Lead partners with and advises both internal and external (outsourced) AR teams to ensure consistent application of policies, accuracy in collections, and excellence in patient account resolution. The goal is to improve collections, enforce consistent RCM processes, and deliver excellent customer service to patients and team members. This role ensures accurate resolution of Oral Surgery and Surgery Center claims, proper application of payment schedules, and compliance with regulatory and company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide hands-on training for practice teams and RCM staff on Oral Surgery and Surgery Center AR procedures, systems, and best practices. Audit Oral Surgery and Surgery Center account balances, including verification of payments, fee schedules, and adjustments related to services rendered. Review and resolve claim issues involving medical and dental insurance coordination, claim denials, and appeals related to Oral Surgery and Surgery Center services. Assist in developing and implementing patient collection processes tailored for Oral Surgery and Surgery Center services to improve collections and workflow. Initiate outbound communication to patients to resolve balances, request additional documentation, or clarify account issues. Respond promptly and professionally to internal inquiries and patient account questions. Document all account activities, updates, and communications with accuracy and attention to detail. Identify trends in account denials, payer responses, or system issues and escalate to management with recommendations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines and relevant revenue cycle regulations. Support leadership with special projects or assignments related to Oral Surgery and Surgery Center AR. Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service in interactions with internal teams and patients. Serve as a liaison between billing, AR, and front office teams for Oral Surgery and Surgery Center account matters. Experience and Qualifications Experience in dental billing or AR within an Oral Surgery, Surgery Center, dental practice, or DSO environment. Demonstrated experience training or mentoring staff on billing or AR practices. Strong knowledge of Oral Surgery and Surgery Center billing, medical and dental terminology, and insurance protocols. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proficient in navigating dental and medical insurance portals and electronic health systems. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with data tracking or analysis.
