Scholars Program Ready to lead something that matters? The YMCA Y Scholars Program is looking for Site Coordinators who know that great programs are built through great leadership. As a Site Coordinator, you'll take ownership of an afterschool program serving approximately 100 students each day. You'll lead and develop a team, create a strong site culture, build partnerships with school leaders and families, and make sure students experience a program that is safe, organized, engaging, and worth coming back to every afternoon. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll coach people, solve problems, make decisions, strengthen systems, and continuously look for ways to make your program better. School-Year Schedule:

Monday-Friday, typically 10:00 AM-6:30

PM Summer Schedule:

8-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM-6:00

This Is Your Program to Lead As a Site Coordinator, you're the leader responsible for turning our program vision into an exceptional daily experience. You'll establish expectations. You'll develop your team. You'll create systems that keep the program running smoothly. You'll build relationships with the school community. And when something isn't working, you'll take ownership of making it better. That might mean coaching a Group Leader through a challenging moment, meeting with a principal about program priorities, analyzing attendance trends, supporting a conversation with a family, reorganizing staff assignments, or jumping directly into an activity to model what great facilitation looks like.

RUN AN EXCEPTIONAL PROGRAM

Lead the day-to-day operation of your school-based afterschool program Build dependable schedules, routines, staff assignments, and operating systems Ensure students are properly supervised and programs maintain required staff-to-student ratios Create an environment where students feel safe, welcomed, challenged, and connected Ensure staff deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate enrichment experiences Anticipate operational challenges and respond quickly when plans need to change Step directly into programming when your team needs additional leadership or support

MAKE QUALITY VISIBLE

Observe activities and assess the quality of the student experience Use attendance, program data, staff observations, and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement Turn observations into coaching conversations and clear action steps Help staff strengthen facilitation, engagement, behavior management, and relationship-building skills Apply youth development and expanded learning best practices throughout the program Follow through to make sure improvements actually happen

Develop strong working relationships with principals, teachers, school staff, and district partners Communicate proactively and professionally with families Collaborate with community organizations and enrichment partners Listen to feedback and work collaboratively to address concerns Represent the YMCA and Y Scholars Program with professionalism, integrity, and care

OWN THE DETAILS

Maintain accurate attendance, staffing, program, and operational records Monitor enrollment and daily participation Manage site supplies, resources, and assigned budget responsibilities Complete required reports, documentation, and administrative responsibilities on time Balance immediate program needs with longer-term priorities Participate in meetings, trainings, special events, and program initiatives Communicate early when challenges arise—and come prepared with possible solutions What You'll Bring Minimum Qualifications At least 2 years of youth development experience At least 1 year of staff supervision, team leadership, or program management experience 48 college units OR a passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between program sites, trainings, and meetings Ability to successfully clear required DOJ/FBI background checks Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications within 30 days of hire; training is provided You'll Thrive Here If You...
