Job Title:
Practice Coordinator Location(s): San Francisco, CA Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Practice Coordinator to provide high-level administrative and patient-facing support within an Orthopaedic Surgery/Spine Center. The ideal candidate will have healthcare administrative experience and be comfortable managing front-desk responsibilities, patient check-in, prior authorizations, surgery scheduling, and administrative support for provider teams. The successful candidate should be professional, detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to providing excellent patient and customer service. Key Responsibilities Check in patients and provide front-desk support.
Verify and manage patient information as required.
Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests.
Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate related administrative activities.
Provide administrative support to physicians and provider teams.
Handle approximately 15-20 calls per day.
Respond to patient and staff inquiries professionally and efficiently.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow established healthcare administrative procedures.
Assist with additional front-office, back-office, administrative, or call-center duties as needed.
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Required Qualifications At least 1 year of relevant healthcare administrative experience.
Previous experience working in a healthcare office or clinical environment.
Front-desk experience, including patient check-in.
Experience submitting prior authorizations.
Experience scheduling surgeries.
Experience providing administrative support to provider teams.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Professional telephone etiquette.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Enthusiastic and willing to learn new processes and workflows. Additional Requirement APeX-trained candidates only. Candidates without APeX training will not be considered.
The selected candidate will remain at the same campus for the duration of the assignment.
No temp-to-perm opportunity is anticipated. Important Requirement
Full medicals are required for all candidates, regardless of whether the position is onsite, hybrid, or remote.
