Santa Monica, CA 90404 $26.00/hour Full-Time | | Onsite Insync Consulting is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler Coordinator to support a busy outpatient orthopedic surgery center. This role is responsible for coordinating surgical and specialized procedural scheduling while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional patient support in a high-volume healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries, procedures, and related services. Collaborate with workers' compensation adjusters, nurse case managers, and employers to ensure timely approvals and documentation. Coordinate pre-operative requirements, including health clearances, diagnostic testing, and required studies. Schedule operating room time, clinical staff, and any special equipment required for procedures. Educate patients on surgical processes, physician instructions, and available pre-operative education programs. Serve as the primary liaison between patients, physicians, case managers, and internal departments before, during, and after surgery. Respond to patient inquiries and concerns, providing service recovery and escalating issues as appropriate. Manage physician referral work queues and process referrals accurately and efficiently. Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and medical information in the electronic medical record. Coordinate physician correspondence, forms, authorizations, calendars, and related administrative support tasks. Collaborate with the billing department to provide documentation for audits and ensure surgical reports and charges are submitted accurately. Provide clinical or administrative support based on operational needs.
