Job Description
Hospitality and Events Manager Lana | Solana Beach, CA Lana is looking for a polished, energetic, and highly detail-oriented Hospitality and Events Manager to join our team. This role is at the center of the guest experience and will oversee private events, front desk operations, VIP guest service, and overall hospitality execution. We are looking for someone who takes pride in the details, knows how to anticipate a guest's needs, and—most importantly—knows how to deliver. The ideal candidate is confident, organized, warm, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where exceptional service is the standard. What You'll Do Event Management We are building a private event space, The Cove by Lana, in a suite adjacent to the restaurant. This space has the expectation of hosting a variety of events (birthdays, anniversaries, wine dinners, spirt tastings, fashion shows, art releases, sports parties, coporate lunches, breakfast meetings, holiday parties, etc...) We also book special events and buy outs at Lana restaurant. The Hospitality and Events manager will oversee bookings at both venues.
- Oversee the planning and execution of private events from initial booking through completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients and ensure every detail is executed flawlessly.
- Coordinate with the culinary, service, and management teams to ensure events run smoothly.
- Conduct event walkthroughs, manage timelines, and ensure all guest expectations are met.
- Build strong relationships with clients and create memorable experiences that encourage repeat business. Front Desk & Guest Experience
- Lead front desk operations and ensure a warm, welcoming arrival for every guest.
- Manage reservations, seating flow, special requests, and guest communications.
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor and proactively identify opportunities to elevate the guest experience.
- Handle VIP guests and special occasions with discretion and exceptional attention to detail.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and confidently. VIP & Hospitality
- Maintain knowledge of VIP guests, regulars, special occasions, preferences, and important details.
- Create personalized experiences that make guests feel recognized and valued.
- Work closely with ownership and management to execute special requests and high-profile guest visits.
- Help establish and maintain Lana's standards of legendary hospitality. What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of event management experience in hospitality, restaurants, hotels, private events, or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of high-end hospitality and guest service.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining calm and composed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong follow-through—you see things through from idea to execution.
- Confident interacting with VIP guests, clients, vendors, and team members.
- A natural ability to anticipate needs rather than simply react to them.
- Professional, polished, warm, and personable.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and during special events.
- A "whatever it takes" attitude when it comes to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
