Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring optimal provider utilization. Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare and health insurance policies, and facilitate medical billing and collection processes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Communicate effectively with patients via phone and in person, providing clear instructions on appointment details, preparation requirements, and follow-up procedures. Manage electronic health records (EHR systems), document review, and coding processes including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to support accurate billing and care plans. Assist with front desk operations such as greeting patients, answering phone calls with professional etiquette, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks like filing and data entry using Microsoft Office tools. Support clinic staff by providing administrative assistance including medical office management tasks like maintaining medical records, managing health information systems, and performing 10-key typing for data entry accuracy. Skills Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures including medical collection processes and health insurance claims submission. Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and Medicare documentation requirements. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone etiquette and demonstrate compassionate patient service. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic experience or dental clinic experience is preferred; familiarity with healthcare workflows enhances efficiency. Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to manage electronic health records accurately and efficiently. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review, filing, and maintaining medical records securely.
