Join Our Team at Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. Valley-Wide Health Systems is seeking a Referral Coordinator to support our clinical care teams by facilitating patient referrals and orders, obtaining pre-authorizations, and ensuring a seamless referral process. This role is essential in coordinating specialty care, managing documentation, and providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare partners. Key Responsibilities Patient Referrals & Pre-Authorizations:
Obtain pre-authorizations in compliance with payer requirements Ensure referral providers and facilities are in-network based on insurance coverage Facilitate referral scheduling, including direct coordination of appointments and assisting patients with potential barriers Track and follow up on scheduled and unscheduled referrals to ensure patient compliance Acquire specialty notes following completed appointments Communicate referral status to patients via phone or written correspondence
Diagnostic Order Coordination:
Manage and track diagnostic orders throughout the order cycle Schedule appointments, obtain necessary prior authorizations, and provide timely patient notifications Follow up on pending or incomplete orders, assisting patients in rescheduling as needed Refer patients with barriers (transportation, language, financial, etc.) to Case Management for additional support
Customer Service & Communication:
Provide excellent customer service to both internal teams and external healthcare partners Respond to patient inquiries regarding referrals, pre-authorizations, and appointment processes Ensure proper documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and maintain tracking logs
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience:
Two or more years of healthcare experience preferred Strong clinical and administrative skills Culturally competent with experience working with diverse populations
Technical Skills:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
Other:
Professional demeanor with strong communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently Why Join Valley-Wide?
