Position Overview:
The Patient Care Coordinator is essential to ensuring patients feel welcomed, informed, and supported while helping the clinical team operate efficiently. The Patient Care Coordinator serves as a key connection point in delivering high-quality patient care. The Patient Care Coordinator role reflects the expanded responsibilities of the front office position and the important part it plays in supporting patient care, clinic flow, and communication between patients, providers, and outside facilities. This role goes beyond traditional receptionist duties and helps ensure a smooth, compassionate, and efficient experience for every patient. Medical Assistance experience is a must.
Primary Responsibilities:
1) Clinic Opening & Environment Open the clinic and prepare the front office and lobby for the day Stock supplies and maintain a clean, welcoming patient area 2) Patient Experience & Communication Greet patients and create a positive, respectful first impression Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions or needs Monitor shared email and website requests, ensuring timely responses or routing Take manual blood pressure 3) Check-In & Financial Responsibilities Check in patients and verify demographics and insurance information Collect copays and document payments accurately 4) Check-Out & Scheduling Schedule follow-up appointments Provide patients with clear next steps and appointment details Back up to the surgery scheduler 5) Care Coordination & Administrative Support Fax orders for imaging, prescriptions, and medical record requests. Assist in acquiring medical records and referral information from outside providers and facilities Manage incoming faxes and route to appropriate staff or providers Room patients when needed to support clinic flow
Key Competencies:
Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and discretion with patient information Maintains accuracy and attention to detail in scheduling and documentation Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members Demonstrates adaptability to clinic needs and supports overall team workflow Must have Medical Assistance experience Must have experience taking manual blood pressure
Working Conditions:
Office and clinical environment May require long periods of standing or sitting Occasional lifting of supplies or assisting patients
Salary:
$18-$23/hour based on experience
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
