Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary services with enthusiasm and expertise. Duties Lead and manage the dietary department, including supervising food service teams and ensuring high standards of food production, safety, and quality. Develop and oversee care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles tailored to individual patient needs, including those requiring tube feeding or specialized diets. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine nutritional requirements, monitor progress, and adjust care plans accordingly. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies and food service health codes through regular audits and staff training. Manage budgets effectively by controlling costs related to food procurement, staffing, and equipment while maintaining quality standards. Oversee the preparation and presentation of nutritious meals that meet dietary guidelines, physiological needs, and cultural preferences. Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of patient nutrition data, care plans, and progress notes. Provide health coaching to residents or patients to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices. Coordinate with healthcare teams for diagnostic evaluations related to nutritional status or acute care needs. Manage food safety protocols including hazard analysis, critical control points (HACCP), and staff training on food safety management. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living facilities or healthcare settings with a focus on dietary management. Strong background in clinical nutrition, dietetics, or related fields with relevant certifications such as Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed Dietitian (LD). Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing food service teams and supervising staff in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of health regulation policies, food service health code compliance, and food safety management practices. Skilled in patient assessment techniques, including tube feeding protocols and diagnostic evaluation processes. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to nutrition care. Experience with budget management, food production processes, and managing dietary department operations. Familiarity with physiology concepts relevant to nutrition therapy and acute care scenarios. Excellent team management skills combined with effective communication abilities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
